Abstract
Alteration minerals such as crandallite-goyazite-waylandaite series, apatite, muscovite, lepidolite, cookeite and topaz were confirmed in montebrasite [LiAlPO4(OH, F)] from Nagatare LCT pegmatite, Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan. In addition, the first occurrence of lacroixite [NaAl(PO4)F], wardite [NaAl3(PO4)2(OH)4·2H2O], viitaniemiite [Na(Ca, Mn)Al(PO4)(F, OH)3], morinite [NaCa2Al2(PO4)2(F, OH)5·2H2O], petitjeanite [Bi3O(PO4)2(OH)] and smrkovecite [Bi2O(PO4)(OH)] in Japan was also detected. These features indicate that several stages of alterations occurred in the late stage of the pegmatite forming process in Nagatare LCT pegmatite.
