Abstract

We conducted a field expedition to the Polar Ural ophiolites, Russia, in 2013. Ultrahigh-pressure chromitites containing diamond have been fround from one of them (Ray-Iz), and one of our targets was to observe their mode of occurrence. The peridotite (harzburgite) and chromitite have been strongly metamorphosed. We are examining the relevance of the metamorphism to the ultrahigh-pressure minerals.
