Abstract
Ruby-bearing leucocratic dike has been reported in meta-peridotite in Ray-Iz ophiolite, the Polar Urals. The leucocratic dike mainly composed of plagioclase, phlogopite, ruby and chromian spinel. Ruby is always surrounded by minute chromian spinel and paragonite, which contains minor amount of CaO (< 3.0 wt.%). We discuss the origin and formation process of the leucocratic dike based on the petrological and geochemical data, and try to estimate P-T trajectory of the host Ray-Iz peridotite massif.
