Abstract
Detrital zircon U-Pb dating was conducted for Devono-Jurassic sandstones from the Kurosegawa Belt on central Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan. The zircon age distributions of the late Paleozoic samples show single-peaks near the deposition ages, respectively. In general, clastics in forearc include few old zircons from continental shield while clastics in back-arc include old zircons. The results present that late Paleozoic formations of the Kurosegawa Belt deposited in forearc at the time.
