This study focusses on multiple stages of partial melting in the lower crust of Eastern Ghats Belt, India. An early event of dehydration melting produced UHT metamorphism, generation and segregation of melt. The cooled crust rehydrated and underwent fluid-fluxed melting in response to a later orogenic event. Multi-stage melting, an important process in crustal evolution significantly changed the physical and chemical properties of the lower crust.
