Abstract
The Kyoto University Museum has a mineral collection, collected by Professor Tadasu Hiki of mining and metallurgical department in the Kyoto Imperial University between 1898-1926. Hiki made a collection room, containing more than 10,000 mineral and ore specimens, and left “Will of the specimens”, written about his thought for a collection and an education. The collection contributed to the development of study and education at the dawn of mineralogy of Japan.
