Trend of studies on arid land in the Japanese Society for Irrigation, Drainage and Rural Engineering

Abstract

Three journals published by the Japanese Society of Irrigation, Drainage and Rural Engineering (JSIDRE) were investigated to understand the trend of studies on arid and semi-arid land last twenty years. About three percent is occupied by the papers related to arid and semi-arid land studies to the total number of papers. Most of papers are related to irrigation and drainage, water management, and soil salinization. One third of papers are related to inner China. It was revealed that researchers and engineers are involved in the projects related to irrigation, drainage and rural engineering in arid and semi-arid areas in different countries and regions.
