Abstract

To evaluate the alleviation effect on salt accumulation by using salt-tolerant turf grass, we prepared three experimental conditions: Bare soil (BS), Not trimmed (NTR), and Trimmed (TR). Each of these was treated with four different concentrations of NaCl solution. The results of evapotranspiration in 15 g/L NaCl solution-treated NTR and TR conditions were 9% and 26% lower in evapotranspiration compared to BS, respectively. Furthermore, soil EC (Electrical conductivity) showed that in 15 g/L NaCl solution-treated NTR and TR conditions were 8% and 21% lower in soil EC compared to BS, respectively. These results suggest that salt-tolerant turf grass can decrease evapotranspiration and alleviate salt accumulation in soil.
