Abstract
An input support system with clause-choice method were developed to reduce the input operations of making radiological reports. The selections of the clauses were collected from a set of existing radiological reports. The main sentence in the reports is formed with the clause expressing the locations and the clause expressing the findings. Making effective use of this structure, the clause-choice method of free choice from each clause of locations and findings was adopted.
The sentences in the documents of intracranial CT reports were divided into clauses of the locations and the findings. These clauses were to be selections and the menu was made by combinations of the location and the finding clause. The combinations are almost typical and this made the proper quantity of selections possible.
This method was evaluated with the input support system prototype.
The system of the clause-choice method has reduced the input operation to about 60% compared with the system of the method without the clause choices.
