〔Objective〕 This study aimed to examine the relationship between occupational career maturity and nursing practice abilities among mid-career nurses.
〔Method〕 A questionnaire survey was administered to 900 mid-career nurses. Statistical analyses included the calculation of basic statistics, correlation analysis, analysis of variance, and multiple regression analysis.
〔Results〕 Data from 443 mid-career nurse participants were analyzed. Multiple regression analysis revealed significant positive associations between nursing practice ability and Career Planning(β=.291, p<.001)and Career Concern(β=.197, p<.001). Although Career Autonomy was positively correlated with nursing practice ability(r=.333, p<.01), this association was not significant in the multiple regression analysis.
〔Conclusions〕These findings suggest that Career Concern and Career Planning appear to support the development of self-directed learning by fostering goal setting, proactive learning attitudes, and intrinsic motivation, thereby enhancing nursing practice ability. This suggests that a proactive attitude toward career development contributes to mid-career nurses’ nursing practice abilities.
