Abstract
Objectives: This study was performed to examine the reliability and the validity of NURSERV-J (Nursing Service Quality Scale for Japan) for evaluation of the quality of the nursing service in an acute care hospital in Japan.
Methods: The reliability and validity for 72 patients in an acute care hospital were clarified for questionnaire survey using NURSERV-J.
Results: In the categories except the “tangibles” of NURSERV-J, the Cronbach's alpha coefficient of reliability was 0.78–0.85. And, significant positive correlation was seen between categories except for “tangibles” and PTS (patient reliance scale). Furthermore, many of results of the content analysis to the quality of nursing service were the contents similar to NURSERV-J.
Conclusion: Although NURSERV-J has enough reliability and validity as an evaluation index of the quality of nursing service, in order to raise accuracy more, examination of the contents of “tangibles”and “nursing professionals” are required.
