Pet excrement odor analysis using SPME-GCMS

A SPME-GCMS analysis, which is a combination of a gas chromatograph mass spectrometer (GCMS) and solid-phase microextraction (SPME), is often used to analyze odors and fragrances. SPME fibers differ greatly in polarity and retention strength depending on the type. Therefore, it is a problem in analysis to appropriately select the liquid phase suitable for the analysis target. In this paper, I selected an adsorbent with the broadest adsorption spectrum for cat excrement odorants. And I explained the result of the odor analysis using the adsorbent.
