Abstract
We present a Balancing Domain Decomposition (BDD) preconditioner for Domain Decomposition Method (DDM) of linear systems arising from heat conductive analysis. This preconditioner is a variation of Neumann-Neumann algorithm, which is known to be a domain decomposition preconditioner with the unstructured subdomains for an iterative solution of finite element method. With BDD, the convergence estimates are reduced effectively and independent of the number of subdomains. Numerical analyses of heat conductive problems in solid with BDD are reported.
