Abstract
An experimental study of the interaction of a shock wave spheres placed close to the end wall of a shock tube is presented. The spheres are fixed each other and to the walls of the shock tube. The pressure under the spheres is measured and the overpressure of gas phase is observed. The propagation of a shock wave in the gas between the spheres is visualized by shadowgraphy. The relation between the pressure histories observed under the spheres and the shock wave propagation over the end wall is discussed.
