Abstract
Two dimensional flow around a circular cylinder which has four dimples on the surface is numerically simulated. This configuration corresponds to the cross section of the real ball used in the baseball games. In order to compute the flow around a rotating cylinder, moving boundary conditions are incorporated in this simulation. The detailed flow field as well as the force acting on the cylinder is investigated. Moreover, the effect of the rotation on the flow field and the force is also examined.
