Abstract
An exact spiral solution in order to describe an asymptotic behavior of the interface in the Richtmyer-Meshkov (RM) instability is presented. This solution belongs to a class of the Alexander spiral, which has the form of a logarithmic spiral. It is shown that the density difference in the RM instability leads to two asymmetric spirals, which correspond to bubble and spike, respectively.
