Abstract
We consider linear stability of a vortex sheet on a sphere with pole vortices. The purpose of this research is to investigate how the pole vortices affects the Kelvin-Helmholtz instability appears in the vortex-sheet motions. In addition to that, we consider stability of a structure of many rolling-up spirals appearing in long time evolution of the vortex sheet when it is regularized the vortex method by applying point-vortices approximation of the evolution.
