Abstract
For seismic microzoning on damage of buildings, the vulnerability functions of buildings should be defined. Although many vulnerability functions are proposed until now, In this study, the vulnerability functions in consideration of affecting the rates of damage with the peak period of the foundation are proposed using the damage survey data of Hyogo-ken Nanbu Earthquake,Japan. In this paper the proposed functions are applied at some strong-motion stations in Tottori district under Tottori-ken Seibu Earthquake. The estimated damage rates agree well with the observations, inquiring the validity of the proposed functions.
