Abstract
In the field of computational solid mechanics, finite element method is the de-facto standard approach used for extensive analysis. Although finite element method is widely used in large deformation analysis, it is known that severe mesh distortion in large strain cases leads to reduction of accuracy and non-convergence. Adaptive method is sometimes used as a technique to solve this problem, however existing adaptive method fails in rezoning because of the temporal discontinuity of nodal internal force under old and new meshes. Last year, we proposed a meshfree method based on incremental equilibrium equation and showed its effectiveness in large deformation analysis. In this paper, we propose a novel finite element formulation based on incremental equilibrium equation. It is indicated through some examples of the analysis that our new formulation has potential to solve problems that existing adaptive method faces.
