“Karamushi” is the original and traditional material of Toka-machi City, where a large amount of textile fabrics has been historically produced. In recent years Karamushi is also attracting attention for other usage than fabrics, such as food and art, which means that the material has been infiltrating into the society inside and outside the region, as a local resource. In this situation, it is desirable to promote the local-industrialization of Karamushi, in order to develop the material further as a local resource, where we think the next generation takes command. For that reason, this study aims to implement the educational activity for next key-players through regional studies, and analyze the results, as well as proposing subjects to support the activity from outside the community.
