Abstract
The purpose of this research was to identify the experiences of nurses who took care of depressive patients. Eight nurses who had 3-5 years experiences were interviewed. The result shows that they were confronted with a lot of difficulties. They suffered from lack of verbal communication or rejective attitude of patients. They tempted to accept their dependence, while they felt fear to involve too much with them. Most nurses were intimidated by the patient's suicidal intension or actions. All the nurses were in the state of identification with depressive patients. But some were relieved by the patients' positive feedback. Finally, the need of emotional support for the nurses were strongly suggested.
