Analysis of Social Conflict and Conciliation Procedure through Regional Development. Case Study for Golf Play Ground Developments in Ibaraki

Abstract

This paper shows social conflict and conciliation procedure on proceeding development plan for golf play grounds in local cities. Identifying public organizations, developers and inhabitant groups, we specify important mutual interactions among them through the Content Analysis on local newspapers. Furthermore, we specify the regional characteristics which would affect the final decision of inhabitant groups, whether they accept the plan or not, through Discriminant Analysis. Finally we categorize the regional characteristics into several groups which are significant to conform a social acceptance for the development plan.
