ナノテクノロジー導入による技術革新:既存ケミカル遮水技術問題点の克服

Traditionally, much effort has been made by means of chemical "water shut off(WSO)" from the perspective of reducing undesired water production in the oil and gas fields. To do WSO effectively, various types of technologies such as crosslinked polymer gel(CPG), pre-formed particle gel(PPG), and micro cement(MC)have been developed and applied to many fields. However, hurdles to be improved have been still remained in those existing technologies; Therefore, the nano-technology integrated methods have been developed in recent years by introducing the advanced materials from the chemical industry. The new chemical WSO agent, called emulsion system with nano-particles(ESN), has functions of selective blocking in water zone and reversible feature of unblocking. The features avoid a concern of secondary formation damage and allow bullhead injection without coiled tubing unit operation for a temporary mechanical isolation that has been needed for the existing WSO agents. This leads to a game changing in WSO treatment from the aspect of saving operational cost and expanding target candidates. This review paper highlights a practical example of the technology innovation by introducing the advanced technology in other industry to the E&P sector and recaps the importance of technology integration being increased towards the future.
