The following issues must be addressed in order to make more rental housing available for DIY to accommodate the diverse intentions of residents. First, educate landlords, residents, and management companies on the details of the contract and how the building works. Second, create housing that facilitates DIY. Third, clarify the contractual terms and conditions for DIY. Fourth, develop a social system that supports DIY-enabled rental housing.
