Comparative study of real estate industry structure and digital transformation between Japan and the United States

Abstract

It is generally said that digital transformation of real estate is more advanced in the United States than Japan. The purpose of this study is to figure out where this difference comes from. It does not come from digital skill difference between American agents and Japanese agents, but from real estate industry structure difference. American agents have more incentive to leverage technology and improve user experiences than Japanese agents.
