This study estimates the economic effect of the sewerage system in Niigata City through panel analysis using the
hedonic approach. Our analysis reveals that the sewer age system enhanced the economic welfare of its users even
under the cost burden of wastewater treatment. Additionally, the economic welfare of its users gradually increased
over time after the start of the sewerage service.
