Abstract
A fuel cell vehicle (FCV) using hydrogen has been researched and developed recently. In the case of a fire accident, a hydrogen jet flame is instantaneously generated. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate the thermal effect of a hydrogen jet flame on the human body surface. In this study, a simulated skin is used in a thermal loading exposure experiment, while a numerical simulation model based on Non-Fourier heat conduction with a thermal relaxation/lag time is used to simulate the experimental result. In addition, we observed the histopathology of laser-exposed porcine skin to observe the appearance of burn-like symptoms in real skin depending on the temperature and duration of heat exposure.
