Abstract
This session discusses the nature-society interface from cultural anthropological perspective, based on ethnographic data concerning human-animal continuity. Our purpose is to raise a question about the relation between nature and society, by paying attention to the continuity. The followings are the presentations: laboratory activity of neuronal physiology, human-animal relation in Borneo hunters, animal symbolism in Tibet, and human-fish continuity in New Guinea.
