Abstract
We report on the trial of a career design seminar targeting medical students. From May to December 2023, three seminars on career design for medical students were conducted through both in-person sessions and on-demand streaming. The first session addressed the "Importance of Career Design as a Physician," the second session covered the "Process and Significance of Obtaining Specialty Board," and the third session focused on the "Process and Significance of Obtaining a Doctorate Degree in Medicine."
After each session, a survey was conducted to attempt to extract concerns and aspirations regarding the career design of medical students. The survey results revealed that many participants understood the significance and necessity of career design. Concerns were frequently expressed regarding the difficulty of obtaining specialization or a doctorate in medicine, as well as the potential impact of interruptions due to factors such as maternity or paternity leave. Reflecting on one 's career after graduation during the medical student years may prove to be an effective strategy.
