Abstract
This paper's objective is to measure the effect of social media to conserve the local traditional performing arts in the archive activities by citizen participation. We connected "Twitter" as a social media to "Hanamatsuri-no-sato" which has been in operation as a local web site in mountainous area, Aichi, Japan. The result of the effect measurement, we found 3 points of effects as follows; (1) to promote the citizen participation, (2) to provide the face to face communication opportunity, (3)to encourage some activities such as a posting to retain the relationship.
