Abstract
This paper proposes a hypothesis that the generation processes of meme are self-organizing processes driven by the catalytic action of multiple agents. It considers not only the accidental phenomena from traditional Darwinian principles such as replication, mutation and natural selection, but it also considers the concept of self-organization or dissipative structure by Stuart Kaufman and Ilya Prigogine. The sense of value that harmonization with the external environment gives is very important and could work as a catalyst for self-organization in sustainable or emergent organizations which can exist in the 21st century. This paper suggests that this is called 'meme management'.
