Abstract
In the case of defacto standardization, such as VCR, PC, or video game, we can find out three key factors to realize the generation change of locked-in format technology. First one is the environmental factor of strong frustration against the established leader company of standardization. Second one is technological factor of discontinuous innovation. Third one is organizational factor of the leader who is very enthusiastic about innovation and is moved by a firm sense of mission to spread the format over the industry. In this study, we tried to analyze his leadership style and define it as "para-evangelistic leadership".
