Agent-based simulation of evacuation dynamics in shared spaces of a university

Abstract

When it provides against natural disasters such as earthquake, most popular safety measure is to increase strength of structures. That is so effective, but from practical point of view, overcrowding of refugees into one place might also cause another accident. Therefore, it is important to estimate how or where people evacuate by agent-based modeling.
In this paper, we have simulated evacuation dynamics at the university assuming that all know where exits are. As a result, we showed where refugees crowded to and how risk was.
