Abstract
Many academic societies are facing the decrease of the number of members. In order to sustain the development of the society, differentiating the society from other ones is essential. However, under the circumstance that there are a lot of societies in a same field, it is difficult for not only outsiders but also even members to recognize the differences of the features among societies. This study picked up the academic societies related to the field of industrial engineering and attempted to visualize the positioning of those societies by applying text-mining to the academic papers published by each society. We demonstrated the effectiveness of using text-mining to analyze the positioning of the societies and provided useful information.
