The results of previous studies of the effect of emerging companies' business plans on the companies' progress and profitability are not consistent. However a study focusing on the degree of consistency of the business plans with the business realities as a qualitative aspect of the business plans has shown that the effect of accelerating the turn-around time of their business.
This study demonstrates how the top management team's characteristics such as work experience and behavior in the startup process affect to the likelihood that the business plan is consistent with the business reality. In the analysis, I used data from a six-year survey of emerging entrepreneurs in the United States.
