Abstract

t Propaganda policy was an important issue for the British, who ruled over a colonial population about ten times larger than their own. Among them, propaganda films were shown in many colonies using various methods, led by specialized government agencies, to spread knowledge about war, education, and hygiene. The research question is how such propaganda films' policies in the colonies affect the film industry after their independence. In this study, we demonstrate This study shows that the release of films in the colonial era had effect on the film industry after independence. This study makes a theoretical contribution to imprinting theory by demonstrating that imprinting during the colonial era leads to the development of the current film industry
