A Study on the Relationship between Securities Report Statements and Corporate Human Capital Initiatives

Abstract

As the importance of human capital management has been pointed out, Japanese companies are now required to disclose information on human capital in their annual securities reports and other documents. Specifically, in addition to indicators such as the ratio of female managers, companies are now required to describe their human capital initiatives. An analysis of the descriptions revealed that most companies described diversity, and a certain amount of description of reskilling was made regardless of the industry, but there were differences by industry with regard to new concepts and ways of working. Further, a more elaborate analysis is required.
