Abstract

"Tourists" or "Visitors" which is the correct target for tourism? On the first day of JASVE Annual Academic Meeting 2013, this point was discussed. At first, based on the discussion, the differences of not only definitions but also of categories among international(TSA), Okinawa and Hawai‘i standard macro tourism statistics are verified in this report. Then, judging from IS balance, the magnitude of tourism as the key industry in Okinawa are verified as well. Considering the almost 60% budget dependence of the prefecture's economy and its background of that, the possibility of distorted resource distributions in the asset market. This is because of unreasonable nominal (prices) economy is pointed out. Also, in this report, a disparity of people as a result of such distortion is mentioned. As a result of the disparity, existence of "the vicious cycle of poverty" is confirmed during not only one's prime of life but also the next generation. However, in this report, relatively high potential growth and room for venture are mentioned regardless of the above situation. Finally, this report is closed with the eager for not only venture but also venture education suited to Okinawa.
