Abstract
This research aims for analysis of trust building through communication in virtual teams. Editors, designers, and coders were recruited via crowdsourcing to design a homepage. The recruited crowd-workers were formed into 14 teams. Communications among members were limited to text only groupware. The half team could use a situation awareness tool that can see another member's situation using by web camera image and short texting. All participated crowd-workers answered the questionnaire about trust, after the design task was completed. This paper describes analysis results of trust building in virtual teams based on questionnaire and log data of groupware and situation awareness tool usage.
