Abstract
In Japan, it is recommended that human clinical practice guidelines should be created based on the guide for the preparation of clinical practice guidelines defined by Mind. In this review, the author created a pilot guideline for feline idiopathic cystitis (FIC) according to this guide. Based on several published articles, it was possible to create a guideline including FIC clinical questions (causes, symptoms, treatment) and recommendations (mainly treatment). On the other hand, since this was conducted on a trial basis, it is necessary to cooperate with members of related academic societies and other organizations to create more objective clinical practice guidelines. In conclusion, it is possible to create a reliable clinical practice guideline with the procedure as summarized in this article, but it takes a lot of time and cost to realize it, and careful judgment and further consideration are required to created it.
