Abstract
The relation between the bronchographic shadow and function of the lung was investigated, making reference to the findings of bronchoscopy and x-ray examinations. It was found that degree of bronchial filling and deformation of tracheo-bronchial tree and the ventilation capacity of the lung are closely related to each other. The ventilation capacity is found decreased in proportion to the degree of filling defect, and the extent of the deformity of the bronchus.
