A Case of Plastic Operation for Cancer of the Trachea

Abstract

A case of the trachea in a 35 year old woman in whom polyethylen-protese tube combined with skin flap was applied is reported, and survey on the literature made.
End to end anastomosis is desirable for the operation of this kind, but if this could not be carried out, the protese is preferable to grafting.
The prognosis of this case is of course to be guarded. However, for the insurance of air-way it had met the expectation, so that this method is considered to give promising result for the treatment of benign tumors, tuberculous cicatrization and traumatic stenosis.
