Abstract

The number of patients with complaint of feeling of abnormalities in the pharyngolaryngeal area and esophageal aperture is more and more increasing. Chlordiazepoxide (Contol) was given to 30 cases which appeared to be so-called pharyngolaryngeal neurosis. With Contol alone, complete cure was obtained in 20%, marked effect in 33.3% of the cases and the total effectiveness 83.3%. When Contol was given together with maxillary nerve ganglion blocking, which is being used in the treatment of this condition in the Department, more favorable results were obtained, that is, complete cure in 46.7% and maked effect in 35.6% of the cases.
