Abstract
Seventeen cases of foreign body feeling in pharynx and larynx were observed through their personal mental histories, Cornell Medical Index, Yatabe-Guilford charactor test and functional test of autonomic nervous system. The results were as follows.
1) Psychodenic reaction was one of the most important elements whether Foreign Body Feeling in Pharynx and Larynx was due to organic or functional causes.
2) Foreign body feeling was often combined with the other types of neurosis.
3) foreign body feeling sometimes relating to emotion.
4) Therefore autonomic nervous system might fulfill an important role in foreign body feeling as autonomic nerve intimately relates to emtional center located at lower part of hypothalamus.
