Abstract
52 cases of foreign bodies in the air passage, treated on our department during past 11 years, were reported. Most of foreign bodies were peanuts. There is little sexual difference and most of them were under 2 years old childrens.
The symptoms are stridor, cough and dyspnea, and let physicians to make erronous diagnosis as asthma or bronchitis.
Foreign bodies were removed by means of inferior bronchoscopy under local or general anesthesia. The latter is becoming routine.
It was emphasized that physicians must make exact case history, bearing foreign bodies in mind, to get correct diagnosis.
