Abstract

The method of information acquisition was diversified by the advancement of the information technology. The Web technological improvement is remarkable, and a lot of information is being offered through the website. In order to do this, the chance for not only young people but also the elderly and dichromatic vision have to use the website to exchange and acquire information. It is necessary to maintain the Web accessibility so that all the people may safely use the website. However, data concerning the visual feature that can he used to make Web contents is not clear. In this report, the visibility of the elderly and dichromatic vision was measured using the simulation filters, and the relation between the visibility and the color difference ΔE_<00> was evaluated. As the results, the visibility has improved, when ΔE_<00> between characters and a background was increased. In particular, it was judged that the visibility was high by all groups, if ΔE_<00> is more than 42 in this experiment. Moreover, it was shown that because the characters color that did not include G value of RGB value was judged the high visibility. Therefore, it has to be very careful when the character color including G value is used.
