Some Problems of User Acceptability of Biometrics : Case of the student attendant system with finger vein authentication technology

Abstract

Biometric authentication technology has used PC and various applications including PC login devices and validation devices for ATMs for various fields in Japan. On each scene, we must consider security, usability, and user acceptability of biometrics. In the year 2008, We developed the student attendant system with finger vein authentication technology, this new system were introduced into Niigata University of International and Information Studies. This paper investigates the survey result about student acceptability of this system and reports some case studies of universities and hospitals.
