Abstract
A portable virtual three-dimensional touch system is proposed. The system is premised the personal use, cheap, simple and light weight. This equipment would be applicable to virtual reality, three-dimensional mice and sight handicapped support used in outdoor The equipment measures the position of the finger by the ultrasonic wave, and contact information is given by the piezoelctric ceramic vibrator The position is measured by phase difference of the ultrasonic wave in order to minimize the disturbance to auditory sense. The correction is carried out periodically by the transmission time measurement. The measurement error of the finger position was within 5mm at 500mm above the sensor The contact information of a cube and a sphere was recognized.
