Abstract

(1) The ferment-ability of the waste liqour of the sodium glutamate industry is almost proportional to the degree of purification of the waste liquor, when the liquor was purified with the Japanese acid clay.
(2) The optimum pH of the Japanese acid clay treatment is 4.5-5.0 and the optimum amount of the clay to be used about 5-16%.
(3) It seems sure that the waste liquor of the sodium glutamate industry has some fermentation inhibiting similarly to the Crude amino acids mixture (protein hydrolyzate for seasoning)
