Conditions for the production of ferrichromes by Aspergilli were studied.
Asparagine, ammonium sulfate. glycine and alanine were good nitrogen sources for the production of ferrichromes by Asp. terreus.
The production of ferrichromes by Asp. terreus was accelerated by Co, Zn and Cu, but inhibited by Fe, Al and Ni. The production of ferrichromes by Asp. oryzae was also accelerated by Cr, Zn, Co and Ni, but inhibited by Fe and Al.
Rice bran and wheat bran could be used in the production of ferrichromes.
